The full-year results of 888 saw revenue of £1.70 billion for the twelve months. There’s a rise of 37.0%. This is even though net loss continued year-on-year. However, it’s much lower than in 2022.
The rebrand was subject to shareholder approval. It was gained last May 13 at 888’s AGM or annual general meeting. A total of 284,646,548 votes were cast in favor of the move compared to the 595,372 votes against. In addition, 24,741 votes were withheld.
888 will begin trading on LSE or the London Stock Exchange under the symbol EVOK. This is once the rebrand is complete. The official change to Evoke on LinkedIn was announced recently, 888 said that Evoke represented a new beginning.
The post reads that today, they officially start their next chapter as Evoke plc. Evoke is a symbol of their new direction. A direction that builds on their strengths and allows them to move forward as one multi-brand group with a united strategy, vision and identity.
It also better reflects their mission: to make life more interesting by delighting players with world-class betting and gaming experiences. They’re excited to share more from Evoke in the weeks and months ahead.
Shareholders vote to re-elect a number of directors and elect 888 CEO Per Widerström as a director also saw today’s AGM. Ernst and Young LLP and EY Limited were also re-appointed as the company’s auditors.
Widerström said Evoke would be a chance to reset 888 when it was first announced.
He said that they have a lot of work to do. It is a reset of the business. But they know exactly what success looks like and they have a clear strategy to get there. This will be delivered with a laser-focus on execution.
It had been emphasized by 888 that the rebrand would form part of a larger strategy to improve profits called the value creation plan.
