Kaizen Gaming has secured authorization to launch its Betano brand in Colombia. This becomes the 16th online operator in the market.

Betano has joined other international operators in Colombia. These include Betsson and Rushbet from Rush Street Interactive. All have secured an online betting license.
Regulator Coljuegos has revealed that 17 online betting platforms will be licensed in Colombia in the coming weeks. Bingo Casino is also working to secure authorization.
Marco Emilio Hincapié, President of Coljuegos, announced the successful licensing of Betano. He said the brand would contribute to efforts to increase funding for Colombia’s health sector.
Hincapié said that they continue to strengthen online gaming industry. They hope that the entry of this new operator will help further increase funding for the health of Colombians.
By the end of the year, he expects that the online gambling sector will have paid an estimate of COP419.5 billion or £75.6 million or €90.4 million or $95.5 million in exploitation rights. Compared to last year, this is an increase of 31%, with all of those contributions going to the health sector.
Hincapié added that online betting is a sector that has contributed to the growth of the country’s GDP. Therefore, they are working to make the market even more attractive and to provide more options to bettors.
Right now, the 16 online betting operators authorized by Coljuegos are Wplay, Betsson, Codere, Luckia, BetPlay, Rushbet, YaJuego, Wonderbet, Bwin, Betano, Rivalo, MegApuesta, Sportium, FullReto, Zamba, and Stake.
Betano is one of a number of operators looking to make a dent in the exciting Latin American region.
It was the first to apply for a license in Brazil. They have authorized it to continue operations during the transition period from October 1 to December 31.
