NEXT.io can reveal that the National Police of Ukraine (NPU) previously raided Original Spirit, the live casino studio.
An anonymous source, who took part in the set-up, provided the information. The source reported that an Asian-based B2B gaming supplier bought the live casino studio in 2021.
This followed the creation of the studio in 2020, which involved a Malta-based live dealer solutions business.
Ukrainian police accused the studio of conducting illegal gambling. They also noted false information on its license application. In early January, the police raided the studio.
Photos downloaded from the website of Original Spirit show the same layout, tables, and decoration. These photos appear to match those provided by the police.
Stills taken from the YouTube account of Original Spirit also show the control room space as photographed by the NPU.
Sources have told NEXT.io about the set-up of the studio. They warned not to take too many photographs. This was due to potential violations of Ukrainian law.
They added that the company also offered B2C gaming directly to consumers and B2B live casino.
Original Spirit says that the Ukrainian gambling regulator KRAIL granted a license. The Ukrainian gambling regulator KRAIL granted the license to an entity called Original Spirit UA in November 2021.
The police said that officers conducted a search. The special unit of the Patrol Police Department supported the search. It took place at the actual location of the premises in the city of Dnipro. The premises provided access to gambling.
They added that investigators found more than 120 people in several large gaming halls who provided online casino activities. Authorities seized more than 60 units of gaming tables and roulettes. They also seized decks of cards and dice. Authorities also confiscated servers, computer equipment, and other evidence of illegal activity.
The police added that the president of Ukraine imposed personal sanctions. These sanctions were against the co-owner and chairman of the board of the company that controls the studio.
