RubyPlay recently reached a pivotal milestone. It secured an online gaming license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). This signifies a huge leap forward for the Maltese-based digital games development firm.

Players who play online casinos in Canada will soon also have access to a number of award-winning titles of RubyPlay. This includes Immortal Ways Diamonds, Diamond Explosion 7s, as well as Mayan Cache.
Chief Product Officer of RubyPlay, Dr. Eyal Loz gushed, following the announcement. He said that they’re thrilled to have obtained their Ontario license and build their reach in Canada.
RubyPlay’s company ethos has always focused on developing responsive, mobile-optimized online casino games. The industry recognizes it for its graphics and innovative features. This makes its entry into Canada a monumental achievement.
Loz emphasized the company’s determination to expand its global footprint. He stated that North America will be a strong growth engine, where building and maintaining a strong brand is key.
The move of RubyPlay into Ontario follows hot on the heels of the previous announcements of the firm in January of its money-spinning partnership with FanDuel and Rush Street Interactive, iGaming giants for their operations in New Jersey.
The expansion of RubyPlay into Ontario also comes in the middle of an enforced break up of the two regulatory bodies of the province later in 2025, with iGO or iGaming Ontario. It also regulates the province’s online poker sector, which will soon separate from the AGCO and operate as an independent agency.
Officials announced the split last November. The Ontario Auditor General believed a breakup was necessary to address a growing conflict of interest. It also provided an opportunity to enforce stricter oversight of the rapidly expanding iGaming sector.
