The IndiaPakistan conflict suspended the IPL (Indian Premier League) cricket tournament for a week. It will resume on May 17. Organizers said yesterday that this follows the announcement of a ceasefire between the nuclear-armed neighbors.

The IPL governing council took the decision to suspend the tournament recently. This is after consulting franchises and players. India and Pakistan extended their worst fighting in nearly three decades.
The IPL still has 12 group matches left. Organizers will play it in the cities of Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad.
In a statement, cricket board of India or BCCI said that after extensive consultations with government and security agencies, and with all the key stakeholders, the Board has decided to proceed with the remainder of the season.
Organizers will play a total of 17 matches across 6 venues, starting May 17, 2024, and culminating in the final on June 3, 2025. The revised schedule includes two double-headers on two Sundays.
Organizers will announce the venue details for the playoff matches at a later stage.
They cited a power outage. Organizers shifted another gamer from the same north Indian city to Ahmedabad due to border tensions. The authorities postponed the match. Organizers abandoned the IPL match in Dharamsala on May 8 halfway through.
After the suspension of the league, a number of non-Indian players left the country.
The Pakistan Super League has yet to announce a date for its resumption.
Initially, the PCB or Pakistan Cricket Board decided to move the last eight PSL games to the United Arab Emirates. However, last week said it had postponed the matches on the advice of Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
India and Pakistan have clashed since India struck several locations in Pakistan, claiming they were terrorist camps. This was in retaliation for a deadly attack in its troubled Kashmir region last month. India said Islamabad was involved in the attack.
