Coljuegos is the regulatory entity of games of chance in Colombia. It announced that it will make direct requests to internet service providers. The goal is to restrict the websites of online operators that operate without proper authorization — in other words, illegally.

The regulating entity stated in a public statement that it is taking this action. The goal is to increase effectiveness in the fight against illegal online betting.
Furthermore, Marco Emilio Hincapié, the President of Coljuegos, explained that this strategy will be implemented. It is based on External Circular 017 of 2025. It was issued by the MinTic or Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications.
The authorities issued this document at the end of April. It defines the guidelines and procedures for blocking websites that operate, sell, pay, or advertise unauthorized games of luck and chance.
Hincapié said that from the Government of Change, they are working in an articulated way to protect the gaming industry. After several work tables with MinTic, they managed to simplify the process of blocking illegal gambling websites.
The head of Coljuegos indicated that authorities have issued about 26,600 blocking orders to unauthorized gambling sites to date.
He added that with this new procedure, they hope to block illegal platforms more quickly. They will no longer need to submit requests to different entities. Instead, they can order the blocking directly to internet providers.
Hincapié concluded that, beyond fighting illegal operators, their goal is to protect resources for peace and health. They also aim to provide greater guarantees to the 14 authorized operators in the country.
Ultimately, Coljuegos pointed out that MinTic issued this measure in compliance with Decree 0175 of 2025. The decree adopted tax measures in response to the state of internal commotion declared by the National Government.
