The SPA recently suspended the licenses of seven operators, and it has already reinstated three of them.

Recently, the SPA announced it had suspended seven operators. These operators failed to submit security assessment reports for their betting systems to Brazil’s regulator.
Article 8 of Normative Ordinance No 722 establishes the technical requirements for betting systems. It says that operators must submit a system evaluation report within 90 days of receiving a license. A certifying entity recognized by the regulator must issue the report.
According to the SPA, the companies’ failure to submit those reports affects the safety of bettors. It also harms the economy and weakens the government’s fight against money laundering.
SPA warns that operators who fail to submit these reports could face a sanctioning process. Those who continue to breach the precautionary measure may be fined BRL40,000 (about $6,960) per day.
Although a court decision reinstated Pixbet’s license, only four operators remain on the suspension list. Yet, after EA Entretenimento e Esports and Bet.Bet Soluções Technológicas SA announced they had sent the required documents to the SPA.
The operators and brands that remain suspended are:
Operator: Bell Ventures Digital Ltda; Domain: bandbet.bet.br
Betesporte Online Betting Ltda; betesporte.bet.br, lancedesorte.bet.br
Operator: Logame do Brasil Ltda; Domain: lider.bet.br, geralbet.bet.br, b2x.bet.br
Sortenabet Gaming Brasil SA; sortena.bet.br, betou.bet.br, betfusion.bet.br
The SPA suspended Pixbet’s license in April for failing to provide the required technical certifications for its betting systems.
As federal court Judge Anderson Santos da Silva, overturned the effects of the suspension of SPA. Nonetheless, the license of Pixbet suspension would last less than a day.
Pixbet claimed its initial suspension was illegal and disproportionate. At the time, the operator said it suffered reputational and economic damage due to its BRL470 million master sponsorship of top-flight Brazilian football club Flamengo.
