MrQ, a UK-based iGaming operator has collaborated with ClearStake to implement its latest player verification technology, “ID by Bank”.

The integration streamlines the KYC, or know-your-customer, process. It also addresses challenges related to document fraud and player registration drop-offs.
Players of MrQ can now verify their identity, including name, address, date of birth, directly through their banking app. This eliminates the traditional requirement to upload physical documents.
The approach aims to improve user onboarding by offering a faster, more secure experience.
ClearStake specifically tailored ID by Bank for the iGaming industry. It responds to growing concerns around identity fraud and meets compliance obligations under the UK Gambling Commission’s anti-money laundering framework. It lets operators perform strong customer due diligence while reducing friction during registration.
MrQ’s adoption of this solution highlights its focus on maintaining compliance standards. It also aims to improve conversion rates by minimizing abandonment during critical onboarding stages.
As digital verification continues to evolve, the partnership highlights a growing industry trend. Operators are increasingly using financial data integrations to meet regulatory requirements and build player trust.
Savvas Fellas, CEO of MrQ, said that ClearStake has used open banking technology in exactly the way the industry needs. For operators like MrQ and for players too.
He also said that players are aware of this technology and they need to keep up with expectations and suspend any of their beliefs around the utility of it. ClearStake is effectively pushing the boundaries of what current technology can achieve.
Martin Burt, CEO of ClearStake, said that MrQ has a well-earned reputation for prioritizing the player experience, so they are excited to partner with them.
He also said that ID by Bank solves the biggest verification challenges operators face. These include fraud prevention and the slow processing of physical documents.
