With support focused on wheelchair basketball, the collaboration marks the entry of Betano into adaptive sports in Romania.

Betano has announced a long-term collaboration with the Romanian Paralympic Committee. Its role as the main supporter of the National Wheelchair Basketball Championship held in Sibiu formalized the partnership.
The deal focuses on infrastructure, athlete development, and access to specialized resources. It demonstrates the operator’s expanding involvement in adaptive sports.
As part of the collaboration, Betano will support tournaments that strengthen competitive opportunities for adaptive athletes. The operator will also fund development workshops and provide high-performance, specialized equipment.
The initiative links the programme to broader healthcare and social inclusion efforts. It also includes donating 20 new wheelchairs to patients supported by the OncoHelp Association.
The operator says the collaboration supports long-term development rather than one-time activations, aligning sporting investment with measurable social outcomes.
The partnership with the Romanian Paralympic Committee positions Betano alongside national sports institutions at a time when operators are increasingly reassessing how they structure social responsibility initiatives.
Betano’s move in Romania follows the similar efforts of the brand in other markets, where the operator has tied social responsibility programs to sport, education, as well as harm-reduction frameworks.
With more activities planned under the framework agreed between Betano and the committee, the collaboration is expected to continue beyond individual tournaments. This is as both sides position the initiative as a long-term contribution to the development of Paralympic sport in Romania.
On its social media, the operator said that this is what real impact looks like, turning passion into progress and challenges into victories.
The operator also stated that together, they make the impossible possible. For real. Pe bune. “Pe bune” is a Romanian phrase meaning “for real,” reflecting the operator’s efforts to connect with the national audience.
