In Argentina, it’s no longer enough for gambling ads to sparkle with entertainment.

Every image, video, and voiceover will need to tell a fuller story starting next month. It must warn of risk just as much as reward.
Argentina is setting stricter standards for promoting online betting and gaming.
Designed to make gambling communication simpler, clearer, and more responsible, the Secretariat of Industry and Commerce has introduced a new commercial advertising framework. The Official Gazette published the decree.
Pablo Agustín Lavigne introduced Resolution 446/2025, the new regulation signed by the Secretary of Production Coordination. It replaces Resolution 12/2024 and aims to help consumers understand the real terms and risks behind every offer. Advertisers must now include a visible link or toll-free number that provides details such as validity, conditions, and official company information.
The decree highlights that overly complex or technical messages can mislead consumers. In its words, “Simplifying messages ensures that consumers fully understand the features, benefits, and risks of products and services.”
Argentina’s provinces had long used fragmented gambling ad rules, but that is now changing.
The country will have a unified national framework for the first time, governing online gambling and betting promotions. With a specific focus on protecting children and adolescents, the regulation mandates that every gambling advertisement should include prominent warnings about the risks of compulsive gambling.
These warnings should include two clear statements: “COMPULSIVE GAMBLING IS HARMFUL TO YOUR HEALTH,” and “18+”.
The warning must take up at least 10% of the screen height at the bottom, written in bold with strong color contrast for visibility. It must also remain on screen for the entire duration of the ad.
Read the warning clearly at the end of each radio ad, without background music or fast speech.
