Euro 2025 was the most watched tournament in the competition’s history. Bet365 also reported a notable rise in betting. This is in comparison to Euro 2022.

Women’s football is keeping on booming in popularity not just with fans. Yet, with punters as well.
Bet365, a UK Betting site states that there was a 64% increase in bets placed at Euro 2025 in comparison to the last tournament hosted by England in 2022.
The rise reflects growing interest in women’s football. Both tournaments shared similarities, including convenient kickoff times and England reaching the final.
Steve Freeth, a sports and trading expert at Bet365, said interest in women’s football is growing rapidly. He added that a successful Lionesses team boosts UK turnover.
He added that the cherry on top being a number of bookmaker-friendly results at the business end of the tournament.
England’s run to the final before winning the tournament clearly played a major role in this summer’s betting surge.
The Lionesses final against Spain was unsurprisingly the most bet on game of the tournament.
Again there was a rise in wagers for Bet365 in comparison to the last final with a 63% increase from the improbable extra time win of England against Germany in 2022.
It wasn’t just recent Euros numbers that the final eclipsed through. The famous UK bookmaker also reported growth compared to the World Cup final in 2023.
For the World Cup final, the Lionesses also faced off with Spain. Nonetheless, the rematch this summer saw 16% more bets placed.
Punters also wagered 5% more on average than the 2023 final.
The next Euros in 2029 could see another big rise in betting with women’s football expected to eclipse 800 million supporters by 2030.
