Brazil‘s gambling regulator, SPA (The Secretariat of Prizes and Bets), awarded 21 more online betting licenses on February 11. This brings the list of full licensees to 35.

While 52 companies were provided provincial licenses as operators awaited final approvals, as well as technical certifications to submit to the SPA, just 14 Brazil betting companies received full licenses from the SPA ahead of the legal betting market launch on January 1.
For an initial 30-day period ending on January 30, companies with provisional licenses operated normally in Brazil. The regulator may extend this by another 30 days if certifying entities support them and they need more time to meet regulatory requirements.
A number of recently excluded companies were granted provisional authorization since the first round of licenses was awarded. Moreover, seven companies received permission to operate in the market on a preliminary basis thanks to court orders.
As of today, with the latest flurry announced in the Official Gazette of the Union, the tally of full licensees stands at 35. These cover a total of 173 brands authorized to operate in the market.
The new full licenses feature big names as well, with international giants such as Betano and Bet365, Kaizen Gaming-owned. Furthermore, local brands like Aposta Ganha and Bestul.
20 recently had provisional authorization out of the 21 companies to receive full licenses. On December 31, regulators awarded Betsson a provisional license. However, they did not include it in the latest list of full licensees.
