Drake has declared that he is done with sports betting. Some fans are also encouraging him to stop promoting casino games. These promotions are on Stake, an online platform.

Last week, the Canadian rapper made an announcement on Instagram. He said he is taking a break from sports betting. This follows his $1 million loss on a Super Bowl bet.
Citing his influence over young people, fans have also encouraged the 39-year-old to give up casino games. Drake said he would stick to what he knows. He made this statement in a post announcing he was giving up sports betting. The post also included a video showing him gambling on roulette at Stake.
In the comments section, one fan wrote, “Please stop promoting gambling. You are not just an artist. You are one of the most influential cultural figures in Canada and globally. Millions of young people watch what you do, model what you normalize, and internalize what you associate with success.”
The promotion of Stake has attracted significant attention. The rapper is facing three lawsuits. One claim alleges he uses the collaboration to inflate his Spotify plays. The lawsuits also claim he is encouraging illegal gambling.
In that lawsuit, the plaintiffs LaShawnna Ridley and Tiffany Hines made allegations. They claim that promotions by Drake and other defendants encouraged them and others to engage in unlawful gambling.
On Instagram, one of his fans shared a similar opinion. They said the power Drake holds over fans means he has a responsibility not to lead them astray. The fan added, “Many of the people who follow you do not have the margin to absorb those losses.” Influence carries responsibility. Not legal responsibility. Moral responsibility.”
Lawsuits against Drake also allege that he and Adin Ross, who often appears with the rapper in videos, are not actually gambling. The complaint in Missouri states that when Ross and Drake claim to gamble online with Stake.com, they usually do not use their own money. This is despite telling the public the opposite.
