Officially, FanDuel is attempting to enter the future of Missouri sports betting market.

The Missouri Gaming Commission‘s spokesperson told Sports Betting Dime that FanDuel submitted an application today for an untethered online sports betting license in the Show-Me State.
Missouri gaming regulators have received three sports betting license applications so far. On December 1, Missouri sports betting apps will launch.
The Missouri Gaming Commission will accept untethered online sports betting license applications until July 15. The commission can award two direct untethered online sports betting licenses to operators under the approved sports betting regulations. Regulators will select two license holders on August 15.
FanDuel Missouri, as well as DraftKings Missouri are the only two operators to submit an application for an untethered licensed. As the holders do not have to collaborate with a Missouri casino or professional sports franchise to enter the sports betting market, the untethered licenses are valuable commodities. Untethered license holders do not have to share revenues with their market access partners.
Under the approved framework, the commission can issue up to 19 retail sports betting licenses and up to 14 online sports betting licenses.
So far, Underdog is the only company to apply for a retail, as well as online sports betting license. However, it has yet to announce its market access partner.
