Gabon is preparing to launch a national gambling platform. The project aims to modernize the industry, create jobs, and unlock economic potential. The platform is managed by Gabonese tech company e-Tech SAS in partnership with a Canadian partner. It has received government approval and target to enhance oversight, as well as accountability within the sector.

The Ministerial Council adopted the initiative on September 7. A decree formalizes it, establishing the platform as a central hub for all gambling operations in the country.
A report by L’Union Gabon stated that the government has approved the creation of a national integrator-aggregator. It will be entrusted to the Gabonese company e-Tech SAS as part of a public-private partnership with a Canadian partner. The platform will regulate the sector comprehensively, ensure the traceability of financial flows, guarantee the payment of winnings to bettors, and optimize taxation.
The platform will unify all gambling operators under a single regulatory framework once the platform is up and running. Helping to stop fraud, as well as ensuring that payouts are reliable, this approach targets to monitor financial transactions closely.
Moreover, the framework will introduce modern tools for responsible gambling. This includes age verification and addiction monitoring systems.
Officials clarified that this reform aims to support existing operators rather than drive them out of the market. They plan to give businesses enough time to adjust their practices to comply with the new standards.
The report added that it should also create local jobs, enable better monitoring of addiction risks and protect all stakeholders.
Gabon’s push for a national gambling platform is part of a broader effort to adopt digital reforms across various sectors. In September, the government introduced a new legal framework aimed at modernizing public administration, boosting transparency, and enhancing data security.
This initiative also looks to encourage local private-sector firms to compete for public contracts. Gabon targets to establish itself as a leader in the region for tech-driven and well-regulated gaming by integrating the gambling platform into these wider reforms.
