The KSA or Gambling Authority of Netherlands has issued a warning to 711 B.V., an online gambling provider. This followed the discovery that the company was targeting minors with its advertisements.

One parent reported that an advert on a homework website featured a gambling advert. The Netherlands is a little strict with how it handles gambling advertisements. Authorities have investigated tipsters and issued previous fines totaling almost 750,000 euros ($861,969.88).
The KSA has decided not to take further action at this time, noting that an external partner ran the advertising campaign. How often these function isn’t that the third party will have deliberately decided to advertise on the homework website, just not taken care to make sure its banners didn’t appear there.
Nonetheless, the KSA has issued the warning, as it still ended up on a website meant for minors. It states in a press release that the action against such advertisements and the extra care for the protection of minors and young adults are a priority for the KSA by 2025.
The KSA added that it can still hold companies accountable, even if a third-party runs the advertising campaign. It stressed that incidents must be reported immediately, regardless of any ongoing internal investigation. If advertising violations occur, the KSA can enforce action, even when an external partner is responsible.
As expected, the 711 advertising campaign appeared on multiple websites. This includes others aimed at minors. It has been states by KSA that when speaking with 711, it had already taken measures to prevent recurrence.
711 BV launched its online casinos in 2022 after the 2021 Remote Gambling Act. The company hasn’t been in the Netherlands for long. To date, you could only legally gamble in physical locations, instead of over the internet. The company even joined the International Betting Integrity Association or IBIA as it launched its sportsbook last year.
