The world’s wealthiest man signaled a willingness to de-escalate tensions. Their public feud appeared to be cooling. However, bettors believe President Donald Trump and Elon Musk are unlikely to repair their relationship anytime soon.

Polymarket is a blockchain-based betting site. The market offered a 31% chance that the president and the businessman would publicly reconcile before July. It also gave just a 2% chance that the president would apologize to X owner before June 9. This is after Trump said that he was not particularly interested in speaking with Musk.
Kalshi, rival of Polymarket placed odds a relationship between Trump and Musk could keep on unraveling over social media, with a 34% chance Trump unfollows Musk on his X platform and a 36% chance that the latter unfollows the president.
There are greater odds that Trump and Elon will speak with each other at some point this year. Kalshi priced in a 55% chance the pair speak before July. Meanwhile, Polymarket set odds of 20% that Trump and Musk meet by June 30, 37% by July 31 and 59% by December 31.
Musk appeared willing to cool tensions with Trump.
He recently replied to hedge-fund billionaire Bill Ackman, who wrote on X that Trump and Musk should make peace for the good of the country. Trump said Ackman was not wrong.
Politico reported that White House officials tried to persuade the president to tone down his public criticism of the businessman. Their goal was to prevent further escalation.
They also scheduled a call between the two to broker peace. Trump appeared to shut these plans down. Nonetheless, telling ABC News he was uninterested in speaking with Musk right now, claiming he had lost his mind.
Recently, Elon Musk announced on X that Polymarket is the official prediction market partner of Polymarket. Details about the collaboration are not immediately clear, nevertheless, as X said to stay tuned for more information. Neither X nor Polymarket immediately responded to requests for comment.
