New Jersey regulators fined Evolution. The fine was for live casino dealer and croupier rule-breaking incidents. These incidents happened in 2021 and 2023.

The Division of Gaming Enforcement of New Jersey previously fined Evolution. Evolution provides Business-to-Business online casino solutions. The fine was for a string of dealer and game errors inside its live dealer studios.
Mary Jo Flaherty, interim director, explained that Evolution’s dealers and managerial staff failed to ensure proper dealing of table games, resulting in numerous violations. She labeled the mistakes that led to the $12,000 fine as “impermissible” in a letter made public in early August.
The first incident occurred on June 15, 2021, at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City. A dealer at the blackjack table dealt cards to players but failed to give himself one. Staff acknowledged the problem and then attempted to fix it by moving the cards back into the deck.
Yet, the state rules say that the dealer later received written discipline for his mistake. He was only meant to draw one additional card.
The studio reported another blackjack error on January 6, 2023. It involved one of the virtual blackjack tables displaying incorrect dealer instructions. In reality, the on-screen instructions told the dealer to stand on 17 and draw on 16. The correct rule, however, requires the dealer to hit on a soft 17.
The printing mistake went unnoticed for 26 hours during which the dealer kept playing incorrectly. Nonetheless, this did not prompt the casino to begin any formal disciplinary action against staff members.
Almost two months later, roulette croupiers at Hard Rock had to re-spin the ball multiple times. The ball failed to complete the minimum four revolutions around the wheel. Later, five dealers admitted they didn’t even know that rule existed.
