The Canadian Rapper Drake has lost seven hundred thousand dollars after the UFC middleweight title fight. Unfortunately, the rapper did not predict the outcome of the match. The match was a fight between American Sean Strickland and South African Dricus Du Plessis.

Drake announced on social media that he had bet $700, 000. The bet was for Strickland’s victory. His possible winnings could be one million and three hundred seventy-nine thousand dollars. This is not the first time that Drake has made his betting in public that’s why “Drake Curse” has become a popular joke among sports fans. During the past years, the rapper was blamed for teams and matches losing. This goes from NHL games, to NBA finals, and even the World Cup.

The said betting headlined the UFC 297 in Toronto, Canada. This was the first one in over five years. The last one was in December 2018 between Max Holloway and Brian Ortega.

In contrary to the rapper’s expectation, the bout ended with Du Plessis winning and it was decided via split decision. A lot of people on social media have reacted quickly after realizing that Drake has lost his bet. But the artist does not always make poor betting decisions. Last year, he placed another “psychotic” bet on Kansas City amounting to seven hundred thousand dollars. During this time, the Kansas City has won the Super Bowl LVII.

The winner, South African Dricus Du Plessis has 21 MMA wins and two losses. On the other hand, Drake’s bet, American Sean Strickland has 28 wins and six losses.
