Reddit users have identified online casino scams targeting unsuspecting users through social media.

Posting a screenshot of the homepage, as well as warning users to recognize it as a scam, user on Reddit, ReginaldWatson’s post flagged up a fake casino site.

The post goes on to detail how the scam works.
First, the victim finds the casino by an advertisement on social media that features an enticing bonus.
Second, the victims joins the site, receives their bonus, and begins to play what they believe to be legitimate casino games.
Third, the casino software is privately hosted, as well as changed to have extremely favorable RTP% — i.e. rigged in your favor. YOU WILL WIN if you play, probably a large amount of money.
Fourth, when you try to withdraw your winnings, you’ll encounter various obstacles. Part of the verification process will be that you should create a deposit, likely between $100-$500.
Fifth, they will give excuses or just outright restrict your account after the casino receives your deposit. THEY WILL GIVE A REASON NOT TO PAY YOU no matter what you do.
Sixth, the casino keeps your deposit. You were scammed.
Scammed users identify the URLs of fake casinos, which the same group appears to be running.
Websites include the folliowing: Betstakez.com, Cryptostakez.com, GoldenMirage.com, Dragoluck.com, Velnux.com, WeoPlay.com, CasinoBrango.com, Cylovex.com, Luxspace.top, Playfortune.io, Lopotex.com, Hunnyplay.io.
Some of the URLs appear to be no longer active like GoldenMirage and Velnux. However, others remain accessible, as well as primarily feature the same two landing pages.
The site claims to have paid out over $24 billion to players. However, this does not seem accurate, judging by comments from Reddit users.
One user also notes the outlandish claim of having 51 million users. They comment that these sites do not have 51+ million registered users. For reference, Draftkings and Fanduel, the two largest publicly traded gaming companies with NFL, NBA, MLB, ESPN, etc. network agreements, don’t even have that amount of users. Stake is the largest crypto casino. It doesn’t even come close to the number of registered users that these scam casinos claim.
