SBC informed that the newly evolved SBC Summit Lisbon has already experienced ordinary growth. It triples its show floor space and boosting attendance by 67%.
SBC stated that this rapid expansion underscores SBC’s rising prominence, with Lisbon now firmly positioned as the industry’s central hub.
Minister Reis inaugurated the three-day exhibition and conference at Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Until last September 26, the event ran spanning 111,000 square meters of exhibition space. It draws global leaders from the sports betting, gaming, and related industries.
CEO and Founder of SBC, Rasmus Sojmark, said it was a tremendous honor to welcome Mr. Reis to their first event in Portugal. The SBC Summit features 25,000 delegates and 600 exhibitors from every corner of the globe. It is officially the fastest-growing event in the industry.
He noted that many attendees are visiting Portugal for the first time. They come from regions such as North, South, and Central America, Africa, Europe, and Asia, reinforcing the summit’s international appeal.
The Summit is expected to contribute up to €100 million (or $111 million) in economic benefits to Portugal’s budget. This will boost Lisbon’s hospitality, tourism, and local service industries. A key factor is the attendance of 500 industry C-level executives who traveled to Lisbon for the exclusive invite-only SBC Leaders Summit. It took place at the renowned Myriad by Sana Hotel.
Reis concluded his tour of the exhibition floor by joining the C-level gathering. This is where he mingled with the industry’s elite and greeted Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, who was speaking at the summit.
