The Telecommunications Regulator of Cambodia blocked more than 7,000 IP addresses. Reports suggest they promoted gambling, spread false information, or hosted pornographic content.

The TRC announced in a recent statement that it has blocked access to websites found to promote online gambling, false information, pornographic content, and other illegal activities.
They have collaborated with telecom operators and relevant government bodies to curb these activities. This is in response to the blooming concern over the spread of illegal messages. It includes online gambling, child pornography, and false information. The TRC successfully blocked 7,323 websites and IP addresses responsible for circulating such content.
Earlier this week, the efforts of the regulator were intensified. This is with the TRC blocking 1,965 illegal websites, as well as an additional 489 websites on the following day. These actions reflect the ongoing commitment to maintaining security, social order, and protecting the public from the negative impacts of illegal online activities by the TRC.
The TRC urged the public to report any illegal messages or content they encounter and assist in these efforts.
They assured that they will treat all reports with confidentiality.
The TRC appealed to the public to cooperate in promoting security, maintaining social order, and preventing harm. The public can contact the TRC by calling 6789 during business hours or sending an email to info@trc.gov.kh if they receive any illegal messages and content or are aware of such incidents. They also added that they will maintain the confidentiality of all reports.
Deputy country director for programs at PIC or Plan International Cambodia, Yi Kimthan said recently that the organization praised TRC for blocking websites that contain content related to online gambling and child pornography.
