Following a disastrous White House summit, Donald Trump warned Volodymyr Zelenskyy that he was gambling with world war three. Trump told the Ukrainian president to come back when he is ready for peace. US military support for Ukraine now hangs in the balance. Additionally, talks over a minerals agreement have collapsed.

After Trump dressed down Zelenskyy following an ambush led by Vice President JD Vance to shatter their fragile relationship, Zelenskyy left the White House early. They also canceled the press conference meant to announce the minerals agreement.
The US president recently received the Ukrainian president to discuss a controversial mineral resources agreement. Trump has said this agreement is the first step toward a ceasefire deal he seeks to broker between Russia and Ukraine.
Nevertheless, the recent meeting soured after Zelenskyy suggested that Vance, a skeptic of US support for Ukraine, should visit the country to witness the destruction from the invasion. He also stated that Russia was responsible for the continued fighting.
Although the open display of antagonism in the Oval Office cut the meeting short, they had planned for it to continue behind closed doors.
Shortly after, Trump released a statement in which he suggested that the two had not signed the minerals deal.
He said that he has determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels their involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. He doesn’t want advantage, he wants PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace.
Trump and Vance took turns rebuking Zelenskyy during the public part of the meeting. Vance accused him of carrying out publicity tours. Trump told Zelenskyy that he’s not really in a good position right now.
At one point Vance demanded if he has said thank you once.
